Prepared under the leadership of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), the report covers 46 African countries, representing around 90% of Africa's GDP and 85% of the continent's economies.
The discount rate was also maintained at 19.50%.
On a monthly basis, remittances increased by 44% in April 2026, recording around $4.3 billion, compared to approximately $3 billion in April 2025.
The activation process must be completed by the end of June 2026.
The bank clarified that the EGP 200 note remains the highest paper currency denomination currently circulating in Egypt.
